Texas Hospital Strikes Back Against Insurance Company Lawsuit

Earlier this year, Aetna Life Insurance filed a lawsuit alleging that the North Cypress Medical Center in Texas engaged in several illegal practices to overcharge the insurance company $120 million since 2009. Recently, the hospital retaliated by releasing its own set of claims against the insurer. The hospital alleges that the insurance company developed a plan to deny claims to physician-owned, out-of-network providers to drive them out of business so the insurance company could stand to make higher profits.
